I know you like Joshua Ferris. There's a nice line in "Then We Came To The End" where he describes the accountants as wearing some kind of foam bandage that "gives one speed in the sport of accounting." I have always been jealous at the magic accountants can do on Excel.

Every time I'm on LinkedIn I can't believe what it's become: People projecting their phony work personalities as an extracurricular activity. It's like volutarily doing homework on the weekend.

Yeah, I've had dark times in my life where I've had to be on LinkedIn reaching to all and sundry with resumes. Very strange for anybody to use it when they don't absolutely have to.

Really like the name of your Substack btw!

Google docs - the second wife after you divorce Word - no different really, just younger, more sociable, and less complicated.
