Thank you Dora! I'm interested in this too. I suspect that people tend to glaze over the fiction, but for me it's far more fascinating to write than essays. Everything on the Substack is sort of a gesture towards the publication that I 'would like to see,' and part of that is about finding a more harmonious relationship between fiction and non-fiction. It's been very distressing to me that fiction has been almost completely driven out of publications (even 'literary magazines') and that fiction is increasingly relegated to a kind of arts ghetto. I don't really think that mixing up stories and essays on this Substack will in some way turn the tide on that trend but it's important to me to at least point in that direction.
